Project Description

CADA Conversations: Black Panter @ Betsy Hotel South Beach

The pop-up discussion of Black Panther provides a unique and special opportunity for people of African descent in South Florida to reflect on some of the important messages that the movie represents. The movie has made a major cultural impact on African people all over the world. In fact, it has inspired African and African descended people to challenge the dominant western representation of African history, scientific and cultural achievement. It has also caused many in the African Diaspora to reevaluate their own complacency in response to racism, economic and social injustice and to the marginalization of black lives and culture globally.
